Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene The examination for the Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene is taken at the end of the days training. The exam consists of a single multiple choice (30 questions) paper that takes around 45 minutes. Holders of this qualification will have knowledge and understanding of the importance of food hygiene, associated food hazards, good hygiene practice and controls based upon awareness of food safety management systems. This is important to understanding and maintaining good practice in the handling, processing and preparation of safe food.
